I had hired some contractors to renovate my commercial space, and while they did a good job, they ghosted me because they were struggling to deal with the city of Baltimore's permit requirements. Having had the former contractors vanish, other contractors recommended by my realtor and property manager were not willing to take on the job, saying they did not know what kind of work the previous contractors might have done, and they weren't willing to risk it. They didn't even come look at the space before they turned down the job. Finally we found Manny, who did a LOT of work with the city of Baltimore to renew all the necessary permits. (The original permits had been 'voided' by the city because so much time had passed.) The city of Baltimore is notoriously difficult to work with.
